New Worlds.

Our friend Timmy has been showing us all around Indy and know a lot about the local history we've been exploring the last two days and will probably keep that trend up. We've eaten at some awesome restaurants and gone to a festival. We've seen live bands and a few homeless people asking for change. Here are some pictures of all the fun we've been having. Be JEALOUS.

Gifts.

We are currently relaxing in a hotel suite near Columbus, waiting for our ride to pick us up and take us to Indianapolis. His name is Don and he has shown us so much generosity and kindness by providing us with food, getting us our own room in a hotel and even giving us movie money (we saw Green Lantern, it was actually kind of good). We hope that we can learn to be as generous as him, within our means.

On an unrelated note, here are some pictures from the art museum yesterday:

We've arrived in Pittsburgh, PA and are visiting with our friend Natalie and her wonderful family. We leave for Columbus, OH tomorrow at 6:30am. Wish us luck. I have trouble waking up before noon. And God knows Natalie does too.

Preperations.

I'm sitting in my living room, bag packed, bus ticket ready. Joel is with me, going through his bag and making sure he has everything he needs. Tomorrow, we leave for Pittsburgh, followed by Columbus. Hopefully we're as prepared as we'd like to think we are.
I've been listening to music about traveling to calm my nerves and get me excited at the same time. Here's one of my favorites.
Go do something adventurous.

looking forward.

As the time to leave draws closer, I cant help but to look forward to, and be excited for, this trip. It will be awesome.. truly awesome. (:  Let the tons of sarcasm and forgiveness begin. But really, thank goodness for Aaron, but no thanks to that andrew kid... (:  I'm sitting on Josh Luther's porch with andrew and others at a going away party, and all that I can think of is just how real it's going to be on that bus to Columbus...

Omens II.

For real. It's getting eerie. It must be meant to be.

Omens.

While eating Thai food about a week before leaving, I got this fortune cookie that erases all doubt or fear from my mind about our upcoming trip. Our ancestors or Saint Christopher or Hermes or Jack Kerouac must be watching over us.

Explanations.

For a first post, I feel like some explanations are in order. After some self-reflection and a small midlife-crisis (at the age of 20) in the cold month of January in 2011, I decided that going on some adventures were in order. So on March 4th, 2011, I quit my full-time job to couch surf and travel around the keystone state. While doing so, I vaguely planned the trip that this blog is dedicated to. Aaron was the first to be invited, soon followed by Joel. So it goes.

Five months later, we are almost ready to depart. We have bus tickets leaving from Pittsburgh, PA to Columbus, OH on August 23, 2011. Ultimate destination: San Francisco, CA.

I will now name ten things we want to do before this trip dies:
1) Eat good food
2) Sing old songs
3) Write new songs
4) Make new friends
5) See the Redwoods of Northern California
6) Get lost in a couple cities
7) Sleep outside
8) Take cool pictures
9) Put our feet in the Pacific Ocean
10) Eat more good food

Food is the real reason that people like traveling.
